City Lunch: Prairie Kitchen & Bar
Skyway Accessible: No

In/Out: Full service, huge dining room

Deets: Sometimes you need a place to get away from the bustle of the skyways and perhaps you’re tired of standing in line and eating on the sidewalk with your food truck purchase. Why not slip down the mall to the newly rehabbed Hyatt. The entire lobby has been given a pleasing renovation and the new restaurant is called Prairie Kitchen & Bar. It is comfortable and relatively quiet, big enough to allow you to move if a gaggle of conventioneers claims the space, and service is friendly and efficient. Listed on the menu as a “bologna sandwich”, this griddled beauty was an Amish beef bologna with local goat cheese on crisp sourdough … and it came with fries in a cute Red Wing Pottery crock! The smoked trout burger was very nice on a brioche bun and red romaine salad was fresh and tasty with perfectly cooked grass fed beef. This is a new worthy lunch escape downtown.
