Well, hi! It seems that pizza is having another moment in the Twin Cities as big-deal restaurants (Burch and Travail) are tacking on pizza joints, Travel + Leisure names us the No. 6 pizza city in America, and one notable hot spot launches a sibling. Ann Kim of Pizzeria Lola has opened a slice shop called Hello Pizza in Edina. It’s a walkup counter-service joint in which you are greeted by a variety of pies from which to slice. These are immense, foldable slices with gooey cheese and fresh toppings, straight from the old-school deck oven. Signature whole pies include the New Yorker with sausage, the Veggie Supremo with French feta, and Smokey the Pig with adobo BBQ sauce, smoked mozzarella, housemade bacon, and maple syrup. You’ll also find the Korean Cowboy meatball sub, some generous salads, a little bit of soft serve, and a cheeky homage to Lionel Richie in the back. 3904 Sunnyside Rd., Edina, 952-303-4514, hellopizza.com
