Tiny Diner

A true collaboration between dirt and diner food, Tiny Diner is Kim Bartmann’s latest project. The Powderhorn neighborhood spot isn’t just a greasy spoon—far from it. The patio area is covered by a solar panel installation that powers most of the restaurant and gives the patio a blue sky every day. Surrounding that are gardens and raised planters that grow some of the food, while also feeding the pollinator bees housed on the rooftop. The menu is full of honest modern diner fare, with big sourdough pancakes and thick omelets, grilled cheese, a worthy deluxe grass-fed burger with smoked gouda, and local lamb chops. 1024 E. 38th St., Mpls., 612-767-3322
