The former food truck grows up (and out!) with a delicious, no-frills approach.

After a lengthy build-out, the North Loop finally has the casual coastal fish shack it’s been waiting for . . . except it’s hardly a shack. With some 200 seats (plus another 100 when the loading dock patio opens), there’s plenty of space to hunker down over the legendary lobster roll, a round of po’boys, some raw bar oysters, and even a mean plate of lobster boil. There’s a lot of fun, including two bars, a wheel of fortune on weekends, and late-night hours. This may be the new standard for when food trucks grow up. 603 Washington Ave. N., Mpls., 612-259-7288, smack-shack.com
