Birdhouse

Birdhouse
Katherine Harris

You’d think a top fine-dining chef would continue building his empire with grander and grander operations, wouldn’t you? “Go big or go home” and all that? It seems that Stewart and Heidi Woodman decided instead to go smaller and go home. Birdhouse is the food duo’s new venture that focuses on everyday healthy food for the whole family. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, created with chef Ben Mauk, use farm-fresh vegetables and whole grains to deliver casual, well-crafted plates that don’t ignore meat but don’t necessarily rely on it either.

The house, which was once Duplex, has a new coat of paint and a new verve with a more open feeling and an upstairs bar serving organic wines and cocktails.
