At the heart of this remarkable transformation is an inspiring woman who sought efficient yet inspired living. Design goals included raised ceiling planes, discreet reuse of existing furnishing and accessories, and well-captured views and sunlight. Distinctive features include reflective surfaces, laser-cut metalwork, and added ventless bio-fueled fireplace.
The home is a modest footprint, relatively speaking. For entertaining, which the home owner loves to do and does often, flow and space optimization were critical goals.
Located on an upper level of Loring Green East (a high-rise building nestled between Loring Park and Nicollet Avenue downtown Mpls) the residence offers dramatic views of downtown. Careful placement of mirrored glass panels reflects views from all angles and also accentuates the sense of space. ‘I love mirrors’ was a comment made by the client at the programming meeting. Reflective surfaces became an integral component to the design dramatically reflecting light and views of downtown Nicollet Ave.
