Coach Brandon has his associate’s degree in Health and Fitness from Globe University, and is NASM, Jumpstart, and CPR/AED certified, and is a certified group instructor of Combatives for the U.S. Navy. He is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in Health and Fitness. Brandon’s favorite exercise is the Burpee because of its effectiveness to get the heart rate up in a short amount of time. Brandon has spent 10 out of 12 years on active duty in the U.S. Navy helping soldiers and sailors reach and surpass their fitness goals.
Coach Casey has her bachelor’s degree in Health and Fitness from Globe University and is NASM, NETA, Jumpstart, and CPR/AED certified. Casey’s favorite exercise are push ups of every kind because as a young kid, her goal was to do one full push up- presently, she’s able to do a lot more than one! Casey at one time hated gym class and would do anything to get out of it but now, fitness is her life and her career and she couldn’t be happier about it!
Coach Emilie has her Personal Training Certification from the National Personal Training Institute and is NASM and CPR/AED certified. Emilie’s favorite exercise the walking lunge with shoulder press and tricep kick-back with dumbbells. Emilie recently completed her first Warrior Dash and learned how to paddle board. She also just adopted a sweet pitbull/boxer rescue dog.
Coach Joeleen is NASM and CPR/AED certified and is currently working on her bachelor’s degree as a Health & Fitness Specialist from Globe University. Joeleen’s favorite exercise is bridge with pelvic tilt because it strengthens the deep core muscles and hamstrings while training the range in the lumbar spine. This move is a functional exercise that supports good back health. Joeleen played in the marching band in junior high.
Coach Joshua has a bachelor’s degree in General Studies from Nicholls State University and is NASM, CPR/AED and TRX certified. Josh is currently in the process of receiving his certification in Sports Performance through ACE. Joshua’s favorite exercise is using the TRX straps, especially the single leg squats. They‘re basic and simple, but really do work. Josh has also played Division 1 baseball in Louisiana.
Coach Justin has a bachelor’s degree in Preventative and Rehabilitation Science and a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Northern Illinois University and is NASM and CPR/AED certified. He's currently working on his PhD in Exercise Physiology. Justin’s favorite exercise is boxing because it’s a total body strengthening and cardio workout, plus it’s the best stress reliever. Justin is a goalie for a rec hockey team named the Ligers.
Coach Sergio has a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota and is NASM and CPR/AED certified. Sergios’s favorite exercise is a full-body workout with explosive cardio because you can always challenge yourself by changing it up with speed, distance and intensity. This summer, Sergio competed in the NPC Male Physique.
Coach Shaun has his bachelor’s degree in Exercise & Sports Science from Iowa State University and is NSCA-CPT, USA Olympic Weightlifting: Level 1 Sport Performance, Under Armour: Combine 360, NFHS Coach and CPR/AED certified. Shaun’s favorite exercise is the single arm snatch with dumbbell because it works your upper body, lower body and core. Shaun is competing in the 2012 Xterra Trail Run World Championship.
Coach Tim has a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a master’s degree in Exercise Science from Eastern Illinois University. He is NSCA-CPT and CPR/AED certified. Tim’s favorite exercise is the squat press because it’s a highly effective full body workout that targets your upper body, lower body and core. Tim has been a musician for most of his life and has two albums on iTunes.
Coach Wendy has her bachelor’s degree in Park, Recreation and Leisure Services with a concentration in Sports Management from the University of Minnesota and is ACE, NASM, YMCA, CPR/AED, and fitness instruction & exercise science certified. Wendy’s favorite exercise is running because you can always challenge yourself with this exercise by changing it up with speed, distance and intensity. Wendy has visited 48 states and plans to tour Oregon and Alaska to make it 50.
