We all know one of the main things the Minnesota State Fair is known for is the food. Especially the ridiculous amount of food that you can get on a stick! They have all the usual suspects—corn dogs, cotton candy—plus some crazier things like macaroni and cheese, deep fried snickers, and nachos on a stick. Who knows what they'll come up with next? With a state fair-themed wedding, we had some big shoes to fill in the food department.
We wanted to do something a little bit more casual than a typical wedding, but still have good quality food. I e-mailed a few different caterers explaining what we were looking for and when I got a response from Cookie of Lancer Catering, I knew we had found our caterer. She totally understood what we were looking for and she was excited to make us a custom state fair-themed menu.
When Kyle and I showed up for the tasting there was a table all set up for us. Chef Rick Bouley brought everything out in courses and it was AMAZING. Cookie told us to be critical with our opinions, but honestly, we couldn’t think of one bad thing to say. Everything he brought out was fantastic. Chef Rick even custom made some items for us and he nailed it.
