I can't believe I'm even saying this: We're getting married in two weeks! And it seems like we're just about ready to go. Packages of place mats, planters, plates, accessories, and place cards are stacking up at my front door daily. We're tracking down the last few RSVP's. The flower girls are ready with dresses, shoes, and little bags to tote their rose petals. Transportation is almost finalized. Menu cards are ready to print. Alterations begin on my gown this weekend. And most importantly, it really feels like our families are coming together.
After several showers, a bachelor and bachelorette party weekend ,and even a pre-wedding BBQ this week, our friends and family are really starting to feel like just that: ours. And I just love it.
But don't you worry, it's not all set and ready to go. I know there will be the last minute panic of seating charts and late arrivals (where are those personalized cocktail napkins?). I called Jay the other day only to discover he was fielding work calls and dealing with a shoe crisis among his buddies (bet he never thought he'd balance those two things). And of course, there's the constant fear of blowing the budget.
September 21 is almost here.
I simultaneously can't wait for the day to arrive and want every minute to slow down so I can continue to enjoy it.
