Who: Friends (and their friends) of the Young Members Group at the Minneapolis Club
What: Minneapolis Club Halloween Dance Party
When: Oct. 26, 2013
Where: The Minneapolis Club
Why: Once we heard the classy Minneapolis Club was throwing a sold out dance party with no cover, we knew we had to be there to see it.
The Scene: With decorations from the Guthrie, it was certainly a step-up from your typical bar Halloween party. The entire second floor was filled with tipsy Twin Citians mixing and mingling in their finest getups.
Kudos . . . to the gals who rocked Tom Cruise a la Risky Business in their socks, the eerie guy with the zippered face (how did he do that?!), and to everyone who stayed on their feet while dancing (the floor was like a slip and slide covered with spilled booze and haunted cocktails).
Dress Code: It was your typical Halloween apparel: scantily-clad girls, blood-covered guys, but there were a few funny twists. Props to the gal in full-on penguin costume, the originality of the Robin Thicke girls, and the Game of Thrones duo.
Memorable Moments: The throwback songs that the DJ rocked throughout the night made certain parts of the evening feel like a high school dance for the primarily 20- and 30-something crowd—but in a good way.
