They came. They waited. In fact, they're still waiting. Early this morning, the line was as long as three hours just to enter the Lululemon Warehouse Sale at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The line wrapped around the outside of the building (and it's a really big building) more than an hour before the sale opened at 8 a.m. Tweeted @andreauptmor: "The line for the @lululemonWHUS is twice as long as the last time I visited the @MplsConvCtr…to see the Dalai Lama.”
Spontaneous yoga sessions broke out in line. #obviously. There's dance music, free massages, and candy once you get close.
Those who've made to the sale racks seem generally satisfied. @MplsChic left with pants, jackets, tights and tanks, declaring the wait and effort "WORTH IT! :)" But at 10 a.m., after two hours in line including a long wait in the cold, Happi Olson said there were no black yoga pants in her size. Nor the coveted Wunder Unders. Another serious yogi said she was impressed by the massiveness of the sale, but not by the assortment.
Lululemon will replenish the racks, but if the consuming continues at this pace, they could be wiped out by Saturday.
