Lululemon announced on Facebook that its epic annual warehouse sale will take place this year in Minneapolis.
Coastal yogis may need to assume child's pose to process this shopping news.
Since everybody loves a sale, lululemon tries to move its annual purge around the country—it has previously taken place in Long Island, Chicago, and last year, in Los Angeles. "Minneapolis is such a great location for this lululemon Warehouse Sale for so many reasons," lululemon community manager Brooke Johnson says. "We love how passionate the city is about health and fitness, and over the past five years, we've had an amazing experience getting to know our loyal guests there." Plus, says Johnson, "we're layering experts, and with this recent polar vortex, we know our guests would love to learn how they can wear 25 pieces and look great doing it."
How deep will the discounts go? They aren't saying. But Johnson did tell me the sale will include pieces from luon, luxtreme and "all the big names," with an "abundance of styles" from winter outerwear to warm weather workout gear for women, sizes 2 to 12 and men, small to XXL. Product will be added throughout the weekend.
Sale, education forum, and "yoga dance party"—the big event takes place March 28 to 30 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Lululemon is clearly expecting fans from around the country to make a weekend of it, hashtag and all. The Facebook invite reads: "Think Minnesota is just snow and ice? Come find out what makes Minnesota so nice. Strap on your snowshoes and #March2MN for a Warehouse Sale of Paul Bunyan proportions."
