It’s fashionable to pick one of the smaller museums in town—the Weisman, Museum of Russian Art, or Walker Art Center, say—for the honor of “best” in town. But head to head, none of them can match the enormous depth, breadth, and quality of work on display at the Minneapolis Institute of arts. With world-class collections several disciplines, more than 900 paintings on display, and nationally acclaimed special exhibitions every year, the MIA simply has not peer in town. The others are great; the MIA is better.
